If you're looking for the ultimate Jamaican vacation with a resort that has something to do for every member of the family, then this the place for you! The Riu in Montego Bay, Jamaica is beyond amazing. Theres certain criteria that I look for in a hotel and the Riu always meets my expectations. The criteria that I look for when choosing a hotel is the following:
-Is it all inclusive?
I love all inclusive hotels. Nonstop free food, drinks and more is important!
-Are there activities to do during the day and night?
A hotel, for me, can't be just relaxing. I like entertainment and fun things to do during the day and the night so I feel like I get my money's worth. The resort provides many free activities for everyone!
-Are there restaurants and bars?
Restaurants separate from a buffet style place is good to have so you can feel like you're going out and doing something special. Bars are also key because who doesn't love to drink during the day and hang out at a bar at night!?
-Are there excursions available?
Aside from activities and lounging, I would enjoy leaving the hotel to do something exciting that you can't do at home! These excursions aren't too pricey. Especially since everything else is free besides the room!
-Is there a beach or a pool?
My favorite types of vacations are the ones with warm weather, a nice beach to relax on and a pool to cool down by. The hotels that have both are the best.
Well lucky for all you readers, The Riu Montego Bay has ALL of this, and MORE. They also provide a spa, a gym, a dj on the beach with a jerk chicken hut, a daycare center and many aquatic activities available such as kayaking, sailboating, snorkeling and diving. These are things that I love and I didn't have them listed as requirements! That's just how great this hotel is. It definitely is, in my eyes, top notch. Not to mention it's five minutes away from the airport! This hotel is just sounding better and better isn't it?
At the Riu Montego you will get the ultimate Jamaican experience. Besides the fact of all the staff bringing in their Jamaican personalities, there is reggae music playing 24/. On the beach, at the pool, at the bars. It creates a real Jamaican ambiance. The Jerk chicken hut is also always playing reggae music. Not to mention the authentic Jamaican meal. AMAZING, juicy, tender jerk chicken served with white rice definitely brings the cultural side to the hotel. The excursions also let you experience the real Jamaica. Seeing parts of the island and doing things with a carefree, relaxed attitude like a true Jamaican.
The Riu Montego Bay is, in fact, all inclusive. There are no extra fees for anything besides excursions. They have great excursions there also. For my birthday me and my family went on the booze cruise and snorkeling to Margaritaville which was brilliantly fun. Another thing that was fun were all of the activities during the day. At the pool, the hotel staff would get everybody involved in contests, fashion shows, talent shows, and water aerobics. As for the nighttime, well that was a totally different scene. They had amazing shows that were perfect and enjoyable for every age. As the night went on they also opened the discotheque that had music and dancing up until the wee hours of the morning! Talk about a good time! The hotel bars are opened day and night, serving any kind of drink you want. There is even a swim up bar in the pool! There are two gigantic pools and a gorgeous beach with definitely enough lounge chairs provided. All in all this hotel is exactly what I asked for and more. If I couldn't convince you to book a trip here, well then you could access at the professional website and look into it. But coming from a visitor with honest opinions, this hotel is indeed amazing and I'd definitely go back!
